About

Hello, y'all! My name is Leah, and I'd like to welcome you to my blog!

I am a follower of Jesus Christ.  I placed my faith in Him as my Savior and surrendered to Him as my Lord when I was 13 years old.  For the full story of my journey to Christ, please click here.

In light of that ongoing commitment to Jesus, I strive to lead a life pleasing to Him. Granted, I am a sinner whose selfish flesh still tempts me almost 24/7 to cling to things other than God. However, all along the path, He has been gracious and merciful to me. He placed a desire in my heart to do ministry at age 19, and that desire has been confirmed time and again throughout the past 24 [shudder] years. By God's grace, I have been able to earn a BA in Youth Ministry and an MDiv in Christian Ministry, and I have been trained in biblical counseling by the ACBC.

I currently work as a high school Bible teacher at Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis, Indiana. I also serve my local church, Calvary Heights Baptist in Martinsville, as the Worship Leader and Youth Ministry Coordinator. Prior to all this, I counseled youth and families in the behavioral/mental health field for 10 years, and I have been active in youth ministry for 25 years. I am most passionate about discipling young women, as I absolutely ADORE growing girls in God’s grace and guiding them to submit ALL areas of their lives to His lordship.
I married my best blessing, Michael, in July of 2011, when I was almost 32 years old. I have a deep compassion for singles and desire for them to know the contentment and completeness Christ can bring. In my single years, I became so much closer to the Lord through finding refuge in His Word. Please hang in there and trust that God's timing and will are perfect!
So...what is my purpose for this blog? To glorify Christ by coming alongside, sharing with, encouraging, and challenging others in this "journey to godly" that we all share.
